We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family.  Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member!  Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet.  All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found.  They are all  checked by a veterinarian,  current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.

Parker was picked up by animal services as a stray with wounds consistent with a dog attack.  Once at the shelter, it was discovered this little guy was blind.  Snappy at first due traumatic events before being found, Parker was networked to local rescues.  One of our fosters has experience with blind dogs and stepped up. In her experienced care, he has blossomed!  

Parker is as competent as any sighted dog in his foster home.  He has mapped the house and yard, navigating with ease in his environment. He gets along with dogs his size, but will pick on larger dogs. Yes, Parker is a bully!  He is 90% house trained.  Parker wears a disposable belly band as needed when his foster mom cannot monitor him inside. Parker walks well on lead in a harness.  He LOVES his lap time. With one-on-one attention, he will only expand his capabilities to adapt to his home and space. Parker’s best home will be one with Schnauzer experience.  He has the classic temperament.  An excellent history of vet care for previous pets is required.  A safe fenced yard is necessary. Parker will also be safe with an apartment dweller who must walk him.  Parker WILL NEVER be a candidate for dog parks due to his blindness.  Strange dogs will not recognize his condition and, frankly, Parker is oblivious to his own limitation!  Parker weighs about 17 lbs. and is 3 years old.
