We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family. Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member! Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet. All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found. They are all checked by a veterinarian, current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.
DAKOTA GRACE IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE SHE IS ADOPTED!
Dakota Grace, aka Kota, is a 5-6 year old Great Dane. Her birthday is October 9th. Kota was rescued in the fall of 2019 from rural TN. She spent her entire life on a chain in a front yard. When she came to us, she was a little under weight and had no manners. Kota had no idea what to do with toys and didn’t know how to take a treat. Now, she asks for specific treats (usually pig ears) and loves all of her toys ve ry much. After being spayed, she had to go through heart worm treatment. She is now a healthy 135 lbs. She does have some aches and pains because she’s a little older, but she has no idea that she isn’t a puppy! Kota needs to be on a good hip & joint supplement to keep her from hurting. She also need to stay on a nutrient dense, lean diet to make sure she doesn’t get overweight as this could make her arthritis in her back much worse. She loves to play, but she’d much rather hang out on the couch and nap. She can be convinced of just about anything as long as you rub her ears! She is amazing off leash. She will stay right by your side even if you give her room to roam. She is kennel trained, but can also be trusted out of her kennel in the house. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly. Consideration given to applicants with Great Dane experience.
Her adoption fee is $325 and that includes the transport to CT. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will deliver Dakota to CT after she is adopted. If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com. You can apply to adopt Dakota here: http://www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net/adoption-application22.html
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!
