Baby Bear needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family. Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member! Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet. All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found. They are all checked by a veterinarian, current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.
Baby Bear was adopted from our rescue as a young puppy. Six years later he is brought into the Animal Emergency Center as a found injured dog. Baby Bear had a hip fracture. We had him transferred to one of our vets and owner/original adopter was never located and had not kept the address info on the microchip current. Once at the vet's office we learned Baby Bear was now heartworm positive and had an old injury to one of his eyes. We have treated his heartworms and his fractured hip, and he is now healthy. The eye does not seem to bother him, but it does drain sometimes. The vet feels he probably does not see out of that eye.
This boy is stunning! When first meeting, he growls for the first five seconds and then after that he is your best friend! He is a big guy, but that does not keep him from leaning into you completely. He also will try and fit in your lap. Baby Bear is about 8 years old and weighs about 70 pounds. He has done well with other dogs (big and small) with slow introductions. He thoroughly enjoys lounging around. The couch is one of his favorite spots. He rides well in the car and walks good on a leash. It does not take him long at all to completely bond with you. He loves for his gorgeous fur to be brushed. He still has spurts of puppy energy where he will roll over and promptly show you his belly for belly rubs. This is a friendly, happy, go with the flow kind of dog. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and microchipped.
Baby Bear deserves another chance at a furever family and honestly needs a miracle. He has been with the rescue way too long and would love to live the rest of his life with a family that loves him.
His adoption fee is $160. If you are interested in adopting Baby Bear, please go here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net . Any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com.
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!
