We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family.  Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member!  Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet.  All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found.  They are all  checked by a veterinarian,  current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.

***LALANI (Lala) IS IN HER FOSTER HOME LOCATED IN MEMPHIS, TN***

Meet Lalani (Lala for short):  an adorable eleven-pounder whose best breed guess is maybe a Chihuahua/Dachshund/Rat Terrier mix? She's estimated to be around 9 months old, and our family has been fostering this little cutie pie since May 23.  She is full of playful energy and likes to run all over the backyard any time she's outside with us.  But she is definitely a velcro dog who only wants to remain wherever her people are.

As a toy breed, her potty-training is still a work in progress. She has a small bladder and consequently needs to be let outdoors at least every 3 hours to prevent accidents.  At night she sleeps in the bed with us and prefers to burrow underneath the covers.  We normally crate our foster dogs when we need to leave them alone in the home.  This seems necessary for Lala's safety because she's proven to be a little canine version of a Roomba, eagerly putting anything and everything into her mouth!  However, when placed in her crate, she exhibits a tremendous amount of kennel stress displayed by excessive whining/crying, urinating and/or diarrhea inside the crate.  This behavior may be due to some traumatic experiences she has had with being crated in the past.  So ideally Lala needs an owner who either works from home or is retired and mostly at home, in order to devote plenty of time to helping her feel secure. Lala is a cuddle bug who simply wants to be in your lap whenever possible, whether that's on the couch or in the car.  She's perfectly content as long as she's with you.

Lala is best suited to a home with no children under 12 years old.  Toy breeds are fragile dogs and can be easily injured by children who are too rough or too careless while handling them. Those 12 and older will be fine as long as they remain cautious and respectful of her diminutive size (she's a specialist at getting underfoot before you even realize she's there).

This little one does appear to have some allergy symptoms which are manifested by occasional sneezing and scratching.  Her coat is healthy with minimal shedding, and she is parasite-free.  So a daily dose of a veterinarian-approved antihistamine will likely keep her allergies under control.  She just needs to find her ideal adopter who will treat her like the puppy princess she is!

Lala's adoption fee of $200.00.
