We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family. Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member! Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet. All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found. They are all checked by a veterinarian, current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.
Rio originally came to us as a baby in a family of rabbits rescued from Mud Island. He was quickly adopted and became best friends with a cat. Together they free-roamed the living room, often waiting at the door for their human to return. Sadly, his human had to relocate and was not able to take Rio on the journey. We gladly took him back into our family and have taken note of his unique personality.
Rio is a BIG boy! He does not like being picked up or held, which is not unusual for a rabbit.
Because of his gently demeanor and large size, we think he is an excellent house rabbit for a family with children.
He takes only a couple of days to adjust to new surroundings and is not easily rattled once he’s settled in. Rio adores pets and melts like butter for nose rubs and kisses.
He is very vocal. He loves food. He shows off his BIG binkies when he’s happy. He has the most excellent litter skills and behavior outside his enclosure. He is the CLEANEST bunny we have had in the rescue!
He really just wants to roam around for a bit and then find a cool place to stretch out and chill.
He could thrive very well in a family with a cat and room to roam.
Won’t you consider giving Rio a loving home where he can be part of the family? The rewards will be great with this guy!
P.S. Check out the adorable video of him eating while reclining on our web site!
