Learn more about the Chihuahua. Learn more about the Beagle.
We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family. Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member! Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet. All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found. They are all checked by a veterinarian, current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.
Pancho's mom is a long haired Chihuahua. I'm not sure what the daddy is but from the look of Chico, his brother, I might guess it could be some Beagle but without the Beagle ears. Pancho is a little on the shy side but warms up very quickly. He is very food motivated so treats go a long way in making him your friend. He is a little more shy around men than women but gains confidence fairly quickly. When around a lot of strangers and strange dogs, he barks but once he is comfortable in his surroundings, he doesn't bark other than for the reasons we want a dog to bark...a knock at the door or a strange sound.
Pancho is a super sweet boy! He would love to be a lap dog and gets along well with other dogs and with the cats in his foster home. He is energetic and would love to have some kids to play with. He is house broken and crate trained. He is not food aggressive even though he is food motivated. He eats quietly with the smaller dogs in our home. Pancho is going to be a small dog as he currently weighs 14 lbs as of 3/8/14 when he went to the vet last. At 8 months old, he should be about as big as he will be.
Pancho is in a foster home in Mississippi and will be transported to Connecticut on Got Orphans Transport which is a registered and licensed transportation company that works closely with southern rescuers to transport dogs to their forever homes in New England. His adoption fee is $400 which includes the transport fee, health certificate, microchip and of course all vetting that has already been done or is in progress.
