We want our rescued pets to have loving, permanent homes and will do all that we can to match them with the right home and family. Please let us know what you are looking for in a new pet (i.e. personality, activity level, and family compatibility) so that we can help you find the perfect new family member! Pet ownership is a commitment of many years, and you will receive many years of joy and love from your new pet. All of our rescued pets live with a local foster family until their forever home is found. They are all checked by a veterinarian, current on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered and dogs are micro-chipped.
EMMA is a GORGEOUS, super sweet female black lab and she is estimated to be about one year old. She is very friendly and loves kids and other dogs. Emma would be a great companion for any family with an active lifestyle. Whether you are into running, hiking, hunting or anything having to do with the outdoors Emma would be the perfect dog. She was rescued from a local high kill shelter in Memphis, where she spent nearly a month in a cage waiting but unfortunately her time was about to run out. Sadly here in the South, black dogs/cats are looked over and many are never even given a chance. Her foster mom Michele saw the pleas on Facebook and went and pulled her to foster hours before she was to be euthanized. She currently weighs somewhere between 55-60 pounds and will probably not get a lot bigger. She is 100% house broken and loves nothing more than hanging out or snuggling up and being close to her humans. She still has a lot of puppy in her and she loves to just get out in the yard and run & play when she isn't curled up on the couch. Michele (her foster mom) is working on crate training but due her time being confined in a cage at the shelter it really isn't her favorite place to be but she is definitely making progress.
EMMA is in a foster home in Mississippi and will be transported to Connecticut via Got Orphans Transport which is a registered and licensed transportation company that works with southern rescues to transport dogs to their forever homes up North. Her adoption fee is $325 which includes the Got Orphans Transport fee, health certificate, microchip and of course all vetting that has already been done or is in progress.
Thank you for considering a rescue dog!
